Questions

Frequently asked.

Everything you might want to know before joining your first game on PicklMate.

Getting started

Is PicklMate free?

Yes — signing up, finding players, joining games, and getting your skill rating are free. Paid features like tournament entries and the coaching marketplace will arrive later; you will only pay if you choose to use them.

Do I need a specific level to sign up?

No. PicklMate is for every level — beginner to club regular. Your skill rating develops as you play. Smart matching brings you games with people at your level.

Which sports does PicklMate support?

Pickleball is where we go deepest today — it has a full skill rating system (PSI), scoring, and matching. Padel, badminton, tennis, and table tennis are also on the platform for finding players and games. Other sports are welcome too — tell us what you play.

Skill rating (PSI)

What is PSI?

PSI is the Pickleball Skill Index — our rating system for pickleball. It rates singles and doubles separately, accounts for your partner's contribution in doubles, updates after every match, and is fully transparent.

How is PSI different from other ratings?

PSI is built ground-up for pickleball. Singles and doubles are tracked as two separate ratings, doubles math knows your role on the court, and you can read the breakdown of why your number moved after every match.

Will other sports get a rating system?

Pickleball is the focus today because that is where we have the full rating system. Other sports use skill-based matching from the data players self-report. As demand grows for ratings in a specific sport, we will build out depth there too.

Finding games & players

How does matching work?

When you tell us your sport, level, city, and when you want to play, PicklMate surfaces the closest matches — players at your level, near you, on your schedule.

Can I create my own game and invite others?

Yes. You can host a game, set the format, court, and time, and others at your level nearby will see and request to join.

What happens if someone does not show up?

Reliability matters. Players who consistently show up build a reliability score that others can see. Repeated no-shows lower that score and may lead to account restrictions.

Account & data

How is my data handled?

See the Privacy Policy. Short version: we do not sell your data, do not share it with advertisers, and store it on cloud infrastructure in India (Mumbai region). Email, phone, and direct messages are never shown to other players.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. You can close your account from your settings. Closed-account data is deleted within 90 days, except where retention is required by law.
