Terms of Service

By creating an account or using PicklMate (“we”, “us”, “the platform”) at picklmate.com, you (“you”, “the player”) agree to these Terms of Service.

1. Eligibility & account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By signing up, you confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into these terms. You are responsible for all activity on your account, for keeping your password secure, and for notifying us promptly of any unauthorised access.

2. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the platform for fraudulent or deceptive purposes
  • Misrepresent your identity, skill level, or match results
  • Manipulate your skill rating (e.g., submitting false scores, intentionally losing to lower your rating, or colluding with other players)
  • Spam, harass, intimidate, or harm other players
  • Use the platform for any unlawful activity under applicable Indian law
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the platform without our written permission

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where reasonable.

3. Player conduct on and off the platform

When you join a game through PicklMate, you make a commitment to other players. You agree to:

  • Show up to games you have confirmed, or cancel with reasonable notice
  • Treat other players with respect, on-court and in-app
  • Report scores honestly
  • Respect the rules and conduct of the venues you play at

Repeated no-shows, disputed scores, or reports of abusive conduct may affect your reliability score and, in serious cases, lead to account suspension.

4. Skill rating (PSI) and match results

Your PSI rating is calculated from the matches you and your opponents submit. We use the rating to match you with games at your level. The rating is our calculation and is provided for use within PicklMate; it does not constitute a certification, endorsement, or official ranking outside the platform.

Submitted scores require opponent confirmation. Disputed scores are held until resolved. We may withhold rating updates from matches we reasonably believe to be fraudulent or manipulative.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you upload — profile photos, match notes, messages, and any other media. By uploading content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, store, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating the platform.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and display anything you post on the platform.

6. Games, venues, and meetups

PicklMate is a software platform that helps players find each other and organize games. We are not a party to the games themselves, do not own or operate the venues you play at, and are not responsible for injuries, disputes between players, or anything that happens on-court. You participate at your own risk and are responsible for complying with venue rules and applicable law.

7. Payment processing (planned)

Player-side payment processing on PicklMate is currently in development. The platform is free to use today. When payment features (e.g., tournament entries, coaching marketplace) become available:

  • Payments will be processed through a regulated payment service provider authorised by the Reserve Bank of India
  • Additional payment-specific terms will be presented to you before you make any payment, and you will need to accept them separately
  • Refunds for paid bookings will follow the policy of the organizer or provider receiving the payment, displayed at the time of purchase

Until payment features are enabled, no payment-related terms in this section apply to you.

8. Service availability & warranty disclaimer

We aim for reliable service but make no representations or warranties that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. The platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PicklMate is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) ₹5,000.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, loss, or liability arising from your conduct on the platform, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any applicable law.

11. Termination

You may close your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these terms, with notice where reasonable. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ends. Provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive (including ownership of content, limitations of liability, governing law) will survive termination.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will post material changes within the platform and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept the changes, you may close your account.

13. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or your use of the platform are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
